Participants of past workshops have hailed Guess’ ability to involve each individual’s creative muse in every step of the painting process. Almost everyone who has ever taken a workshop under Guess’ tutelage returns for more. Many have credited him with a distinct ability to open emergent artists to seeing the world around them in ways they’d never before dreamed.
The holidays often present gift-giving dilemmas. What is just the right gift that’s something that recognizes just how special that certain someone is? It must be personal. It should show respect. And, the best gifts have an endurance that will be remembered for a long time to come. The gift of a life changing, life enhancing, learning experience can’t be topped. For that special loved one, may we recommend giving him or her the opportunity to explore a new facet of personal growth through Color Your World?
Each session of the Color Your World workshops runs Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m. Guess will guide participants through all aspects of introductory painting including setting up a color wheel and palette, composing an image, capturing light and shadow and so much more.
For more information, please contact us at 504.581.4596 or info@FredrickGuessStudio.com and we will be happy to work with you.
Season’s Greetings to you and yours!

Freddie
has decided to give a special shortened workshop for August
2009!
The dates
are:
August
10th–
12th
|
| |
| This will be a separate workshop from the
August 3rd to 7th class, which is filled*. But we've had such
incredible interest in the Color Your World series that Guess
feels that doing a mini-session would give more people a chance
to join in the fun.
Color Your World workshops are always limited to small groups,
allowing Guess to work with each participant individually.
Often, the workshops are composed of people of all experience
levels who show their widely varied styles, lending to an
increased air of creativity. Participants of past workshops
have hailed Guess' ability to involve each person's creative
muse in every step of the painting process. Many of those
who have enjoyed learning under Guess' tutelage return to
gain more from his inspiring techniques. The list of emergent
artists who credit him with awakening their talents continues
to grow, with several of his former and current students gaining
artistic notoriety for themselves.
Guess' instruction covers all aspects of introductory oil
painting. Participants will learn how to lay out a color wheel
and mix a palette, how to compose an image, techniques for
capturing light and shadow, how to use a painting knife effectively,
learn to experiment with various brush strokes, how to choose
the right frame, and much, much more.
Each day of the Color Your World workshops lasts from 9:30 a.m.
to about 4:00 p.m., with a one hour lunch break. There is no
deposit required to register, but please let us know if you
must cancel.
For more information, please contact us at 504.581.4596 or

and we will be happy to work with you.
We hope you'll join us for these exciting classes!

| With so many have requests for more flexible
dates for Color Your World that Fredrick Guess has set aside
two special weeks in September. What makes these workshops so
special is the way he has arranged the dates to make shorter
sessions (including one weekend!) available to those who have
a hard time getting away from their busy lives. The first workshop
will be a three day, Wednesday through Friday session, followed
by a Saturday and Sunday session. Then, Guess will offer a full
five day session on the regular Monday through Friday schedule.
Working with small groups of participants allows Guess to
assist everyone individually. Composed of people of all experience
levels, Color Your World creates the kind of ambiance that
encourages developing artists to grow at their own pace and
in their own direction. Participants of past workshops have
hailed Guess' ability to involve each person's muse in every
step of the painting process. Many of those who have enjoyed
learning under Guess' tutelage return again and again to draw
from his inspiring techniques. The list of emergent artists
who credit him with awakening their talents continues to grow,
with several of his former and current students gaining artistic
notoriety for themselves.
Guess' instruction covers all aspects of introductory oil
painting. Participants will learn how to lay out a color wheel
and mix a palette (demonstrated on the 9th, 12th, and 14th),
how to compose an image, techniques for capturing light and
shadow, how to use a painting knife effectively, learn to
experiment with various brush strokes, how to choose the right
frame, and much, much more.

| Fredrick Guess' generosity is exemplified
in his donations to charities and non-profits. On average, his
donated paintings generate over $25,000 annually for organizations
ranging from PBS and the American Cancer Society to Save Our
Cemeteries and Lazarus House, to name a few. In 2006, Guess
called together several friends to do a fundraiser for the Musicians'
Village being built by Habitat for Humanity. That event alone
raised around $27,000. |
